The Past Week (BLOG #3)

This past week has been...lets just say, exausting! I decided that I would rush. I camped out. I went home. I had test. I had work. I HAD NO SLEEP! However, I am still going.

On my last post, I mentioned that my mom was going throuhg some rough stuff right now dealing with a spot on her leg that may have been cancerious. By the grace and love of only God, we got the results back and there is no cancer. This was such great news for me because cancer has been goign on in my mother's life and really the entire family now for about the past 11 plus years. So, to know that the test came back negative for cancer, it is awesome!

Rush has started and for the next five weeks it gonna be hectic. However, I'm ready. Thank goodness that my classes are not challenging, this semester anyways. School work, as just mentioned, has really been easy thus far. No one class has been extremely difficult, just had to study for history the most. Those test cover so much information...blahh. Anyways, I Hope that everyone has a great week. Be praying for all the rushees that each of us can time manage well and get everythign done!

God Bless,
Derek Walker

I agree that it is going to be hectic for all of the pledges and associates that are rushing. Prayers are a good thing for rush as well as classes and for whatever may be a stress in someone's life.

hey i don't think we've met, but i'm really glad to hear that your mom doesn't have cancer. my mom had a brain aneurysm this past december, so i know how scary that stuff can be. she's fine now though. but good luck with rush stuff. it should be fun :)

It's good to hear your mom doesn't have cancer. I know it can very stressful waiting for results like that. I'm glad rush isn't getting in the way of classes for you. So far it hasn't been too bad for me either. I'm in Swannanoa now, I really like all the girls. I just hope I can stay on top of everything.

I completely know how you feel when you said you were worried about your mom. Her case wasn't cancer, but my mom had a spot on her a few years back that she had been worrying about. It turned out to me Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)which is very hard to treat. She didn't tell me then, but when it was all over, she told me that they had to give her last resort medicine that not only kills the bad cells but the good ones as well because it was such a critical situation. Thank God, all turned out well, though, and she is much better and very healthy now. Anyways, I hope your Rush goes well! :)
